What Are Testosterone Injections?

At our Testosterone Clinic, we offer hormone replacement therapy to alleviate the symptoms associated with low testosterone levels. Injectable treatments involve weekly visits where we administer the injection and closely monitor the patient’s progress. On the other hand, BioTE’s pellet therapy is a quarterly treatment that employs customized bioidentical hormones, which are compounded in US pharmacies to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the treatment. This therapy provides long-lasting relief from low testosterone symptoms and is an excellent alternative to regular injections.

How Do Testosterone Injections Work?

After conducting a comprehensive consultation involving a full panel of lab work, we will develop a tailored hormone therapy plan for you. Injectable treatments are quickly administered in-office. For pellet insertion therapy, we will numb the insertion area, typically in the upper buttocks, make a small incision, insert the hormone pellets, and cover the incision with a bandage. Your body will dissolve and absorb the pellets, providing sustained relief from low testosterone symptoms.

What Can I Expect from Testosterone Injections?

Typically, clients begin experiencing relief from their symptoms within 7-10 days of starting therapy. However, it may take up to six months to achieve full optimization. During your consultation, we will determine the appropriate protocol for you, ensuring your therapy is tailored to your needs.

Do Testosterone Injections Hurt?

Injectable hormone therapy is typically painless, with only slight soreness at the injection site, which will quickly subside. We will numb the insertion site before inserting the pellet for pellet insertion therapy. After the procedure, we advise refraining from lower body exercises (walking is acceptable). While showers are fine, we recommend avoiding hot tubs, bathtubs, and swimming for some time. Once we remove the bandage, you can safely resume your regular exercise and bathing routine, including swimming.
