KeraLase is a non-surgical hair restoration treatment designed to support the scalp and the follicles that are still there. It combines two steps in one visit. First, the Lutronic ULTRA laser creates tiny channels in the scalp. Then a growth factor serum called KeraFactor is massaged in, where it can absorb more deeply than it would on its own.
The ULTRA (officially the LaseMD Ultra, by Cynosure Lutronic) is one of The Formula’s signature technologies, available at all of our locations. It is the same 1927nm laser we use for skin resurfacing, customized for the scalp.
At our Staten Island location, treatments are customized to each patient’s needs and goals under the direction of Nicole Frontera, FNP.
Nicole is a family nurse practitioner with more than a decade in aesthetic medicine. She is also a former clinical nurse educator for Cynosure, one of the largest laser companies in the country. That depth of device knowledge lets us set every treatment with care.

What to Expect
Most sessions take about 15 to 30 minutes, so treatment fits easily into a lunch break or a busy day.
Results, Sessions, and Aftercare
Hair restoration is gradual. Most patients are treated in an initial series of six sessions, spaced a month apart. Many notice a healthier scalp and less shedding first. Fuller-looking hair builds over the following months. Because hair loss is ongoing, a maintenance session every 3 to 6 months may be recommended to help support your results. We will build a plan based on your hair and goals.
Aftercare Essentials
- Wait until the next day to wash your hair
- Skip hair dye, chemical treatments, and heavy styling products for a few days, or as directed
- Avoid heavy sweating and hot tubs for the rest of the day
- Protect your scalp from direct sun
- Use any recommended at-home scalp products as directed
